Chassis

A full composite monocoque with integral fuel cell positioned between the structural driver's seatback bulkhead and rear bulkhead. The chassis will conform to the current F3/FIA regulations regarding roll hoop loading, nose impact testing and side fuel cell squeeze criteria. The roll hoop will be fabricated in steel and the bulkheads will be machined aluminium.

Suspension

Advanced push rod systems incorporating anti-squat and anti-dive characteristics that operate on dual front and rear double adjustable dampers. Wide based front oval section wishbones will be mounted in double shear and include the latest anti-intrusion bar requirement. Uprights are cast heat-treated aluminium and incorporate large diameter angular contact bearings. Front and rear anti-roll bars are fully adjustable.

Gearbox

Formula X rear wheel drive transaxle, with five (5) speed sequential change. The gear train assembly will accept engine power up to 240bhp and gear change will be via steering wheel paddle shift.

Bodywork

Styling will reflect an individual appearance incorporating Formula 3 features of high nose and low engine cover. The car will conform to flat bottom regulations that incorporate a 2" step under the side pods and fuel-length jabroc skid with a rear mounted composite diffuser. The bodywork itself will be manufactured from GRP in a range of colors.

Aerodynamics

Front wing: Single element front main plane with left and right side quick adjustable flaps all in aluminium. Rear wing: Two upper aluminium elements linked to a single lower element joined by composite end plates. The rear wing assembly shall attach to the rear of the gearbox. The profiles are to be internationally accepted by FIA regulations.

Braking system

AP 4-Pot aluminium callipers acting on large diameter steel ventilated and floating discs. Pads to be carbon metallic and the dual system is to be fully aero equipped with cockpit adjustable bias.

Cooling system

Will be via twin high efficiency aluminium radiators with a crossover. Oil cooling is by an oil/water heat exchanger.

Fuel system

A foam-filled cell to FT3 specification with hatch access from the seat back bulkhead. Incorporated will be rollover/breather valve and armoured aero quip fittings throughout. Capacity to be 70 liters usable. Filler neck to be inside roll hoop. Submerged high pressure (fuel injection) pump to be included in the fuel cell.

Cockpit safety

Anti-intrusion Kevlar hip panels on both sides of the driver. The cockpit will conform to current Formula Atlantic/F3 safety regulations in respect of headrest and side head restraint requirements.

Steering

Detachable 10" diameter Formula X steering wheel (made by MOMO) acting on a specialist VanDiemen rack and pinion unit. The column will be collapsible and wheel adjustable, vertically and longitudinally to accommodate various driver sizes.

Wheels

OZ specially made for Formula X centre lock fixing 9"x13" diameter fronts, 11"x13" diameter rears, one-piece aluminium rims alternatively 10"x13" fronts and 12"x13" rears to be instigated.

Instrumentation

Pi 'C' dash, steering wheel mounted and compatible with system I data logging.

Engine

Will be a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder, 16 valves all aluminium Formula X engine, dry sumped and modified to give 190 bhp.
